Description.

This route is a pleasant way to get out to one of Kristiansand’s lovely little beaches, just outside the city centre. You can also easily get on to Hamresanden if you wish, but it is along a busier road. The route begins in front of the blocks of flats on Vigvollåsen and goes through a wooded area by Vigvolltjønna and Vigvoll School, before cycling down to the football pitch at Solvika. The route then passes Ansgarskolen before ending at a bathing area with benches and barbecues at Groviga. There are lots of great views of the Topdalsfjord along the last part of the route, so it might be a good idea to bring your camera.

For those who want to continue cycling…

It is possible to cycle down the hill and on to the well-known Hamresanden, but then you have to follow a busier road without separate cycling facilities.
