Description.

The west side of Glommastien, like the east side, is very easy to cycle. But the safe and green part is limited to Omberg, south of Grålum, and further south to Fredrikstad. The surface alternates between asphalt, wide and narrow paths, and runs through dense forest, all the way down by the river, through some residential areas, and past both living and disused industry. The tour offers a great opportunity to get up close to the Glomma river, and also has information boards and photos that tell about the area’s recent industrial history. Several great opportunities to take a break on the tour.

For those who want to continue cycling…

The tour can be combined with the trail on the eastern side of Glomma, where you can take your bike on the city ferry over to Gamlebyen.
