Hafjell: Hitfjellrunden

Hitfjellrunden from Hafjell is a popular trip due to its manageable gradients, very little car traffic and, not least, the open nature you encounter on Øyerfjellet.

There are cycle signs at all road junctions and the route is easy to follow. Sheep and cows along the road or on pasture add life to the experience. On the north side of Reinsvann, you can take a half-kilometre detour down to the organised picnic area and bathing area Kriksvika, look out for signs.

Hitfjellrunden is great for both exercise cyclists and families with children aged 10-11 who are used to cycling.

The tour is on good gravel roads suitable for all types of bikes except road bikes.

Hiking tip: at Hita seter there is a signposted hike up to Hitfjell (1083 m) with great views. The hike is about three kilometres long and very easy to walk.
