Description of alternative

The route starts where the city ends, at Gamlegrensa. We make our way through open farmland with good views. We pass Århus Iron Age farm and co-operative farm, and roll along what is perhaps Skien’s finest avenue, Fossumveien. Here we can see petroglyphs, and there’s a picnic area where you can light a campfire. Then we have to cross Hoppestadveien, where the speed limit is 70 metres, so be careful. We climb up to Venstøp school, and roll down to Hoppestadelva, where you can often pick your own corn. Then we follow Hoppestadveien to Ås, and Stulenveien to Slettevann, and a well-deserved swim!
