Why not visit the three power stations around Askim in one day?
It’s pretty awesome to see the tremendous forces at work in the production of clean power. In April/May, the water level is particularly high, making the gushing water a spectacular sight. Østfold’s annual production of hydroelectric power is equivalent to the power consumption of around 100,000 households, and is worth an excursion for the whole family.

The tour is partly on footpaths and cycle paths and in an open rural landscape, described by some as Norway’s answer to Tuscany around Askim. The route goes out in three directions from Askim to Solbergfoss, Kykkildsrud and Vamma power stations, passing by each time it goes out to a new power station.
