Description.

A very easy route in the centre of Trondheim, with close contact with both Nidelva and Trondheimsfjorden. The route starts through the old shipyard area at Solsiden before following narrow, pleasant streets through the very cosy, preserved wooden buildings at Bakklandet. The old cobblestones make it somewhat tricky to cycle in the middle of the road, but there are mostly flat slopes along the sides. And the trip is definitely worth it, even if you choose to get off your bike for a short distance. Feel free to stop by one of the small, cosy cafés, or check your bike at Sykkelbua Bakklandet, which you’ll find just south of the iconic Old Town Bridge. A little further south, you can take a nice hiking trail down by the Nidelva river, which you follow for two kilometres to Ila church. At Skansen, you’ll have to cross a motorway before reaching a great cycle path along the seafront at Brattørkaia. There are both picnic areas and swimming facilities here.
