National Cycle Route 1 between Trondheim and Bergen has not been certified and described. The route offers plenty of beautiful scenery, but unfortunately none of our route mappers have cycled this stretch yet. We therefore lack sufficient information about safety, signposting, tunnels, bridges and ferries to be able to recommend it as an optimal cycle route. However, to give you easy access to the GPS track on the route, we have chosen to post the GPX file on SykkelNorge.no.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Veivesen) is responsible for the National Cycle Routes with regard to routing and signposting.

This is what the Norwegian Public Roads Administration writes about the route:
If you want to cycle from Trondheim to Bergen, there are several routes to choose from. The 1,000-kilometre route along the coast offers a varied landscape and lots of beautiful scenery. You’ll find everything from gentle fjords in Trøndelag to the wildest fjords in Western Norway. The best-known route is probably the Atlantic Road, which winds its way from island to island on the many bridges between Kristiansund and Molde.

The route is signposted between Kristiansund and Ålesund and between the Sognefjord and Bergen.
