The Helgeland coast is fantastic for cycling. The coast offers a wealth of opportunities for anyone who enjoys an active cycling holiday with the possibility of mountain hikes, kayaking and cultural experiences in magnificent nature. While we recommend staying away from Lofoten during the summer season, car traffic has not yet become very heavy and a more authentic side of the small coastal communities can be experienced without the tourist traps and chaos spoiling the idyll.

The first stage From Brønnøysund, the journey heads north past Salhus along Route 7. Mosfjell (505 metres above sea level) and Mosaksla (527 metres above sea level) soon appear on the right, while the islands of Ylvingen and Vega can be glimpsed on the left.
The first part of the cycling stage ends at Horn ferry quay after about 14 kilometres. This is the first time you can feel that cycling allows you to avoid ferry queues. There’s plenty of time for a cup of coffee and a rest on the ferry over to Anddalsvåg.
From Andalsvåg, the route continues along national road 7 to Forvik. Approximately 18.5 kilometres are covered, following the coastline all the way with great views of Hamnøya and the archipelago beyond. The last part of the day can be enjoyed in stunning coastal scenery on the day’s second ferry trip all the way to Tjøtta.
