Gjerdalen in Sørfold

This cycling tour goes up Gjerdalsveien, which is located in Sørfold Municipality. The starting point is at Kobbvatnet Camping. From here, you follow Kobbvassveien inland for a short distance before it turns right over a bridge over the Gjerdalselva river, and you continue straight ahead up Gjerdalsveien. This road is open from 15 July to 15 October and runs about 17 km into Gjerdalen. There are lots of great places to stop and look at nature, so you can easily spend hours here. There are also lots of great hiking areas here, so just grab your hiking boots, pick an area and off you go. There are opportunities for all kinds of walks, such as forest walks, mountain walks, summit walks or just a little berry walk.

If you arrive by car from Bodø city centre, it takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach the starting point at Kobbvatnet. From Kobbvatnet to the junction with Gjerdalsveien is approximately 2.4 kilometres.
